1. Prepare the skin and let SPF settle

5. Add concealer and colour corrector only where needed
Foundation first shows what still needs correction. Tap concealer onto inner under-eyes, blemishes or redness, then soften the edges rather than spreading it into another full layer. Corrector can go before or after foundation: before if strong discolouration needs neutralising, after if you only discover a small stubborn area once the base is on.

6. Layer cream bronzer, contour, blush and highlighter
Cream and liquid colour usually belongs before setting powder. Blend contour or bronzer first, then blush, then highlighter if you use it. This keeps the shadows, colour and light distinct. You can reverse blush and bronzer when the desired finish calls for it, but avoid repeatedly dragging wet cream over a powdered surface.
7. Set strategically with powder
Powder after creams, but only where movement or shine is likely. Press a small amount beneath the eyes if needed, around the nose and through the T-zone. Leave drier cheeks alone unless longevity matters more than glow. Powder bronzer or blush can then reinforce colour without muddying the creams underneath.

8. Define brows, shadow and liner
If you did not start with the eyes, work from brows to shadow to liner now. Brows create a frame, so filling them before detailed eye makeup can help you judge balance. 9. Finish the eyes with mascara or lashes

10. Add lips, setting spray and the final check
Choose lip colour once the cheeks and eyes are visible. That makes it easier to judge whether the face needs balance, not just more product.
